About us
The people behind Het Portaal took the initiative to organize Sale in the 80's, a three day trade fair for action marketing. The fair was organized 20 years in a row at the RAI in Amsterdam and evolved after a couple of years to Europe’s largest action marketing fair with an area of 30,000 m2, almost 600 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors. The (free) seminars that were organized during Sale were visited every year by more then 3000 visitors.
Later they became responsible for the logistic organisation of the annual DM Congress/Trade fair in the Netherlands. In 2000, Hans Janssen together with his former colleagues Eric Hoogland and John M Swaab founded Het Portaal Uitgevers. Het Portaal is the multimedia platform for the promotional product industry in the Netherlands. They publish trade journals such as PromZ Magazine (16,500 copies) and PromZ Vak (2,600 copies), the internet portal promz.nl, the end user focused wide fair PromZ Event (7,000 visitors) and the New Year gift trade fair RelatieZ for end consumers (1,900 visitors). In 2002, Het Portaal took the initiative to found the Dutch industry association PPP.
In 2009 Het Portaal Uitgevers acquired the trade journals Expovisie and QM (Quality in Meetings) and their corresponding digital activities from Hollandia Publishing.
